Damon™ Braces

At White Peak Dental, we work with Damon™ to offer our patients a way to straighten and broaden the smile for a more appealing and aesthetically pleasing finish.

Damon™ Braces uses a patented system to offer patients not only a subtler and less noticeable way to realign the teeth, but to broaden and create a more naturally beautiful smile arc.

Damon™ Braces work in a similar way to traditional braces in that they are fixed to the front of the teeth and use archwires and brackets to realign the teeth. But with the Damon™ Braces system, patients benefit from their patented slide mechanism which connects the archwires to the brackets while remaining free to move. This helps to reduce friction, making them more comfortable for the patient, and also helping to reduce the build up of harmful bacteria on elastic ties.

There are three main smile features that Damon™ Braces can address, including:

Natural Broad Arch

A natural broad arch refers to a smile that shows more of the tooth, and is able to more fully fill the corners of the mouth. This allows the smile to appear fuller and more appealing. It also often helps to provide further facial support which can help to make a face appear younger.

Upright Teeth

Even when straightened, teeth can still give the appearance of ‘tipping in’ towards the face, or alternatively flaring outward. This not only looks less even and aesthetically pleasing, but can have a detrimental effect on the patient’s bite. Moving the teeth into a healthy, upright position addresses both the aesthetic, and dental issues with non-upright teeth and leaves a smile looking better.

Smile Arc

A smile arc refers to the curve of the teeth. For a smile to look most appealing, the curve of the teeth – the smile arc – should follow the curve of the lower lip. This helps it look more even and aesthetically pleasing and allows for a symmetrical and photogenic finish. Damon™ Braces can help address the smile arc of a patient, and will leave the teeth in a better position to create a flowing, more attractive smile arc.
