Digital dentistry, including digital planning, digital impressions, and 3D digital scanning, have been designed and created to help make the process easier and more comfortable for both the dentist and the patient.

Digital impressions, for example those taken by our Primescan machine, mean that we no longer have to rely on putty or alginate impressions when creating an image or replica of the mouth. This makes the experience far more comfortable for the patient – there is no gagging, or difficulty breathing – while also improving the accuracy of the impression taken.

We use our Primescan intraoral scanner for a number of our treatments, including single tooth dental implants. Whether we are scanning for just one tooth, or multiple teeth, the Primescan machine can get to work in less than three minutes. This level of speed and efficiency means you spend less time in the chair, and can get back to your day more quickly.

Digital imaging, and in particular the Primescan technique also allows for much better and far quicker communication with our colleagues at the dental laboratory. With such digital technology, we can easily pass on your digital scan in minutes, all of which means your treatment time is much less than it used to be with moulds and impressions.
