Laser technology has been used for years in medical treatments and now we can utilise it to help provide our patients with a more comfortable experience here at White Peak.

Our BIOLASE Epic laser helps limit, and in some cases, completely emit the need for scalpels and stitches during and after dental surgery. With its innovative use of lasers, the BIOLASE Epic ensures there is less blood and pain, which in turn helps increase the comfort and recovery of the patient.

This laser system emits light that then precisely and accurately interacts with the chosen area of treatment. Thanks to the delivery of therapeutic heat, the BIOLASE Epic laser also helps to provide pain relief for the patient.

We may utilise laser dentistry techniques and the BIOLASE Epic laser during implant surgery and other dental surgery treatments. For example, it can be used during pocket surgery, or to expose an implant or canine.

We can however, use the BIOLASE Epic laser for a variety of different treatments, and often use it during our treatment of gum disease. Using the BIOLASE Epic laser, we can kill the bacteria present that is causing the gum disease and remove any infected tissue that might be present inside the gums.

Other areas of treatment include relieving pain caused by ulcers or cold sores, treating a ‘gummy’ smile, and removing any oral growths that may be present. It can also be used to help desensitise the root of a tooth, allowing patients to eat certain food and drink more easily, and endure less pain. More recently, the BIOLASE Epic laser has also been found to be useful in helping to treat and relieve pain caused by TMJ and myofascial pain.
